“Getting the best out of your professional: Communicating and working with practitioners”

Rachel Wright is a dynamic and engaging presenter here to talk about her perspective as a nurse, director of Born at the Right Time and parent of a child with complex needs.
Having lived on both sides of the bed, Rachel asserts that bridging the gap between families and practitioners starts with simple steps humanising the people we communicate with and creating meaningful connection.
Join this passionate and informative session from a parent’s perspective of navigating the many practitioners who help support our children.
Together we will cover:

• The impact our lived experience has on our capacity to work in collaboration.
• 7 suggestions to working well with others.

Bio
Rachel Wright is a qualified nurse and unqualified mum with one child who has complex disabilities. She’s the author of The Skies I’m Under, host of (Finalist in the 2022 BAPs awards), an award-winning blogger and Founder/Director
of Born at the Right Time Ltd. Passionate about effective communication and collaborative working, she uses her skills and lived experience to educate practitioners with CPD-certified courses and support for families. She was a finalist in the Commitment to
Carers category of the RCNi Nursing Awards 2020 and National Learning Disability and Autism Awards 2022 (Trainer).

There will be a tasty lunch provided in the middle and the afternoon will finish off with an open marketplace of local support until 3pm

Key Information:

• The venue is fully accessible throughout.
• There is no parking at the venue, there is a pay and display car park within walking distance.
• Please ensure that any dietary requirements are detailed on the final screen, we cannot gurantee that we can cater for all dietary requirements but will try our best.

The team will be at the venue from 9.30am, feel free to join us from whatever time suits you, we fully appreciate early starts are difficult for many.

We also appreciate that accessibility for parents and carers to attend our face to face conference days can be difficult. We will be holding our popular virtual conference day to compliment the face to face - Thursday 14th November (agenda to follow)
