Rated as one of the Top 3 Destinations for Ghost Tours in New Jersey by NJ Monthly Magazine, our annual autumn tradition is back! Hosted by the Historical Society of Moorestown, these lantern-lit October excursions turn our historic streetscapes into an immersive theater of the past.
When: Friday and Saturday evenings throughout October
Where: Tours begin at the eerie Smith-Cadbury Mansion before winding through Old Salem Road (the famed Kings Highway).
� What to Expect on the Tour
Blend deeply researched regional history with spine-tingling paranormal lore. Highlights of the excursion include:
Expert Storytelling: Led by historians, one of which is a tenth-generation descendant of the persecuted Quakers who settled the area in 1682—some of whom may still roam Kings Highway today!
Chilling Local Legends: Hear terrifying and tragic accounts of Revolutionary War-era Hessian soldiers still searching for stolen livestock from their 1778 retreat, the lingering specter of a 19th-century railroad brakeman near Chester Avenue, and suffragists championing human rights from beyond the grave.
Living History Performances: Experience the past brought to life by acclaimed historians, featuring Dr. Daisy Century depicting legendary figures of the Underground Railroad and abolitionist movements.
