Intro to Parapsychology II: Psychokinesis & the Power of Mind
Can your mind affect the physical world? Intro to Parapsychology II: Psychokinesis & the Power of Mind introduces students to psychokinesis, the category of phenomena involving purported mental influence on physical systems.
From historical claims of object movement and metal bending to controlled laboratory studies of possible mind-matter interaction, participants will examine the methods, evidence, and challenges involved in investigating these claims. Through lecture, discussion, demonstrations, and hands-on experiments, students will learn how careful methodology can help distinguish an intriguing observation from a scientifically meaningful result.
This is the second of two classes offering an introduction to the study of parapsychology at the Merchants & Drovers Tavern Museum.
