The magical-realist psychothriller takes place in future Tokyo, where a dream-reading machine is stolen under mysterious circumstances from a research team. The theft of the DC-mini invention, currently in its testing phase, is particularly dangerous because it allows not only reading but also rewriting the patients' dreams. Tokyo soon finds itself in the middle of a collective nightmare, from which perhaps only a resourceful, half-fictional, half-real, but in any case red-dressed girl (Paprika) can awaken it.
