Following on from Persepolis we wanted to keep the theme of animated pictures.

When revolutionary machine that allows scientists to enter and record a subject's dream is stolen, a fearless detective and brilliant therapist join forces to recover the device - before it falls into the hands of a "dream terrorist”. Prepare to enter the realm of fantasy and imagination - where reality and dreams collide in a kaleidoscopic mindscape of sheer visual genius in this mind bending anime.

Paprika is a Japanese surrealistic science fantasy psychological thriller film, based on the 1993 novel of the same name by Japanese author Yasutaka Tsutsui. The film had its worldwide premiere at the 63rd Venice International Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Lion. It was Kon's fourth and final feature film before his death in 2010.
