As part of Lewes Climate Hub's 'Nourishing Our Community' food season, join a guest panel to explore what action is being taken – and what else needs to happen – to strengthen our community food supply across Lewes District. How do we ensure a reliable food supply in the face of more extreme weather? What should be done to support local food growers? Are we too reliant on the last-minute delivery models of major supermarkets? And as food bank use continues to grow, how do we make sure everyone can get the nourishing, seasonal food they need?
Comments and suggested actions will be fed through to Lewes District Council. FREE - and everyone warmly welcome.
Panellists include:
Collette Haynes – Co-founder of Ashhurst Organics
Councillor Emily O’Brien – Cabinet Member for Climate, Nature & Food Systems at Lewes District Council
Ronald Ranta – Chair of Fitzjohns Food Project, academic and researcher, and part of the Pinch Points Project team looking at local food insecurity.
