About the artists:
Pandit Basant Kabra was exposed to a musical environment at home right from his childhood. He started his training in sarod from the age of fifteen under his father Damodar Lal Kabra, a respected sarod player. Later, he was fortunate to receive rigorous instruction from Annapurna Devi, daughter of Allauddin Khan of the Senia Maihar gharana.
Pandit Basant Kabra has emerged as one of the leading sarod players of his generation. The awards he has received include those given by Navdeep Sanskritik Pratishthan and Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi. He was also awarded the Yuva Ratna award in Rajasthan and was nominated as an Executive Member of the Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Akademi by the Government of Rajasthan.
His performances have taken him across the country and abroad.

Ustad Fazal Qureshi, is a master of the tabla, carrying forward the legacy of his father, the late Ustad Allarakha, and his brother, Ustad Zakir Hussain.
Growing up surrounded by music, Fazal naturally took to the tabla, being formally trained by his father. His career spans over 40 years, marked by performances with renowned musicians across India and internationally. His skill in blending traditional tabla rhythms with other music styles, like Jazz, sets him apart. Today, he leads the Ustad Allarakha Institute of Music, sharing his knowledge and passion for tabla with the next generation of musicians. We’re honoured to have him perform at Shanti Mandir Magod.
