Pancake & Pitches: Social Enterprise Competition

Dear Community Members,

We are excited to invite you to participate in Pancake and Pitches, an engaging social enterprise pitching event taking place on March 25, 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Speakeasy at , Algoma University (1520 Queen St E, Sault Ste. Marie, ON).

This event offers participants the opportunity to present their social enterprise ideas in a supportive environment while networking over breakfast. Audience members and a panel of judges will evaluate the pitches based on clarity of the problem, innovation and creativity, social impact potential, feasibility, and overall presentation quality. Winners will be announced at the event, and prizes will be awarded. and the winner will receive the proceeds from the $10 cover charge collected from the audience at the door. 

What is a social enterprise?

A social enterprise is any form of organization whose central purpose is to create a positive social, environmental, or cultural impact in its community. Social enterprises can take many forms, from private businesses, to not-for-profit organizations, to co-operatives, to informal committees of people who come together for a shared community goal.

Please note that all participants are charged the there is a $10 cover charge entry fee at the door, whether payable upon arrival at the event.
