Join pianists PAN Yicheng and HIEW Tzejia for an evening celebrating the rich and colourful repertoire for piano four hands and two pianos. This programme journeys through a wide range of musical styles, from intimate lyricism and childhood charm to dazzling virtuosity and exuberant rhythmic energy.

The recital opens with Leonid Desyatnikov's Album for Ailika, a contemporary suite that combines wit, groove rhythm, and striking imagination. Audiences will then enjoy Gabriel Fauré's beloved Dolly Suite, a collection of elegant and affectionate miniatures, followed by Cécile Chaminade's Six Pièces Romantiques, Op. 55. While many talented women composers have historically been overlooked in the classical canon, Chaminade enjoyed remarkable success during her lifetime. These beautifully crafted pieces offer a compelling reminder of the artistic achievements of female composers and their rightful place alongside the better-known works of their male contemporaries.

Following the interval, the programme turns to music of greater brilliance and vitality. Darius Milhaud's Scaramouche brings infectious rhythms and vibrant colours influenced by Latin American folk music and dance, while Sergei Rachmaninov's Russian Rhapsody concludes the evening with sweeping melodies, virtuosity, and the unmistakable passion of the Russian Romantic tradition.

Performed by two emerging international pianists, this recital offers an engaging exploration of the piano duo repertoire, featuring works that are both beloved favourites and rarely heard treasures.
