Chamise, Toyon, and Fern Loop Trail at Foothills Nature PreserveJoin us for a relaxed morning hike and easy conversation in nature.
We’ll meet at the parking lot near the Nature Interpretive Center at Foothills Nature Preserve and set out on the Chamise, Toyon, and Fern Loop Trail. With its gentle climbs, shaded sections, and scenic surroundings, this trail offers a peaceful way to move, breathe, and connect.
This isn’t a fitness event — it’s about connection, fresh air, and starting the day with intention. We’ll keep a comfortable, unhurried pace and make space for conversation along the way.
After the hike, those who’d like are welcome to stay and continue the conversation.
No pressure — just good company and a welcoming circle. If you’re 40+ and looking for a low-key way to meet others, you’re warmly invited.

Terrain: Moderate, scenic loop with beautiful views
Parking & Meetup:
$6 parking fee for non-residents (credit card recommended)
I’ll be holding a yellow sign that says “Palo Alto Walkers 40+” so you can easily find the group Enter through the main Foothills Park entrance and allow a few extra minutes to drive up to the meeting area
We walk at a comfortable pace, and natural differences in speed are expected. We’ll pause periodically so everyone can regroup and feel included. This is not a race — it’s about enjoying the experience together.
What to Bring:
Dress in layers, as weather in the hills can change. Comfortable hiking shoes are recommended. Bring water and consider sun protection such as a hat or sunscreen.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome in accordance with park regulations. Please check current park guidelines, including leash requirements.
By joining, participants acknowledge responsibility for their own health and well-being. Please use your own judgment and hike at a pace that feels right for you.
