Spring Cleanup! Spring is upon us and we want Palmer Park to look beautiful and vibrant for the wonderful community of people who enjoy the park. Trash pick-up, weeding, sweeping, raking, and clearing are just some of the ways to volunteer your time and energy! We will provide some refreshments, bags, tools, and gloves. If you have your own, please bring them.

Aziza Fairy Forest Trash & Treasure Hunt. This is a fun family event, too! For the young ones, sign up to search for the treasures: the tiny, invisible, magical Aziza Fairies from African and their handpainted doors that will hang from branches throughout the forest trails. And also search and pick up trash to leave the woods sparkling and clean.

Art Making and Creative activities! This year, there will be more Aziza Fairy doors to decorate the day of the event, as well as bird houses and butterflies. Join us for some hands-on creative fun for all ages. If you school or organization would like to decorate doors in advance, please email [email protected]

Art and Music in the Trees! This year Palmer Park’s Earth Day celebration will be louder and more colorful. The woods will shine and resound with artists and musicians. Large art installations and solo musicians will be found as guests wander through Palmer Park’s 70-acre Witherell Woods. Much of the art at Art in the Trees will be available to commission or purchase at the upcoming Palmer Park Art Fair. Some of it will be created with recycled trash or natural elements.

Sign up with your family, community groups or neighborhood associations, work staff, or come yourself! Please help spread the work and invite as many neighbors and friends as you can!

Volunteers will be deployed throughout the park to promote social distancing and to cover as much of the park as possible. Choose a shift or stay for the whole time. Additional information will be sent the Thursday prior to the clean-up with instructions and directions to your location. (Note: Ticket location is a meeting point, not the site where you will be sent toclean-up)

People for Palmer Park will be providing gloves, trash bags, tools, hand sanitizer, and light refreshments.
