About this Event
Palestinian sound archive Invites Herb Diamanté in the first of this year’s Local Angels archive sessions.
Palestinian sound archive / Majazz project is the first Palestinian independent London-based research and re-issue music label. For the last 7 years Palestinan Sound Archive has brought to life 11 Palestinian albums, telling the stories of each album and bringing back forgotten memories and sounds from Palestine.
This year, Palestinian Sound Archive will be collaborating in a series of live events and performances with local musicians under the title Local Angels Archive, inviting homegrown bands and DJs to join their club nights, spinning rare sounds from 1970s and 1980s.
After our first sold out Café OTO show on the 15th January, we are coming to New River Studios on 27th March for our second London show with the icon that is Herb Diamanté, celebrating his 30 years of psychedelic underground music.
Herb makes torch songs with a pinch of psychedelia causing altered states of consciousness in general, & more specifically using humour & absurdity, to fight all those who wish to control us.
“A post - apocalypstick drunken scarecrow is soaked in a sense of outlandishness reminiscent of the Residents".
“Like a character out of a Lewis Carrol novel".
“Scott Walker on acid".
"A crow-keeper telling the bees he's gone into the Mole country. He plays with his toys to give you strange thoughts. He will never stop."
