Palestinian Pastor to Share Firsthand Perspective on the Lives of Youth and Young Adults in the West Bank
EAST WENATCHEE & LEAVENWORTH, Wash. — Celebration Lutheran Church and Faith Lutheran Church invite the community to hear Pastor Adham Alaraj, a Palestinian Lutheran pastor, as he shares firsthand stories and insights about the experiences of Palestinian youth and young adults living in the West Bank.
Born in Palestine, Pastor Alaraj currently serves St. John’s Lutheran Church and Bethlehem Arabic Lutheran Church—the first Arabic-speaking Lutheran church in California—both in the San Diego area. Through his ministry and personal experience, he offers a unique perspective on faith, identity, resilience, and daily life in the region.
Community members are invited to attend one of two free presentations:

The presentation will explore the lived experiences of Palestinian youth and young adults in the West Bank while offering opportunities for learning, reflection, and respectful conversation. Attendees will hear directly from Pastor Alaraj about his experiences, his ministry, and the realities facing families and communities today.
“This is an opportunity to hear a personal story from someone who has lived these experiences and continues to serve communities both in Palestine and here in the United States,” said Pastor Sarah Toney of Celebration Lutheran Church. “We hope people from across our region will join us with open hearts and a spirit of curiosity as we learn together.”
The event is free and open to the public. People of all faith backgrounds and perspectives are welcome.
For those unable to attend in person on August 11, the presentation will be livestreamed on Celebration Lutheran Church’s YouTube channel.
