Despite the grey city skyline and dull weather, Aberdeen is a city lacking when it comes to producing emo music, surprisingly. Step forward the Scottish music scene's emo torchbearers, Palejoy.
Composed of members of Broadsea and Alkanes, the tight-knit trio pull influence from personal experience to create introspective and vulnerable lyrics, combined with heart wrenching emotion and raw guitars and melodies.

+ The Conflux
The Conflux are a Carlisle based rock band who mix garage, indie and alt rock to create some raw sounding riff based music, along with more stripped back melodic indie tunes. All four members met in school and have been playing together since 2019, making their debut stage appearance in 2021 by winning a Battle of The Bands competition and then going on to make multiple single releases along with their original EP release. Their most recent single ‘Once We Lay The Blame’ came out in August of last year and has seen plenty of air time around Carlisle, most notably on CRFM’s Cumbriana show.
