Norton Singers opening show for the 2026 season is the beautiful "Painting Life in Pictures, A Work of Art," an original work by the multi-talented musician Lisa Yves and her equally talented sister, the visual artist Yochi Y. Avin. The show will be performed on January 16 and 18 at the Marilyn Rodman Performing Arts Center."Painting Life in Pictures, A Work of Art" is a true story about the development of a young artist in her early years trying to navigate her life in a new country with an absent father and self-centered mother. She would come to have 3 siblings from her father and his second wife in America, although her siblings would not know about her until they were well into their forties.
That artist is Yochi Y. Avin. She collaborated with her sister Lisa Yves to create this heartfelt narrative/play featuring her personal art and archived photos. The art will be brought to life by 13 actors and accompanied by 12 original songs written by Lisa Yves, who is also directing the show and overseeing an all-female band of five musicians.
