Painting for Pleasure weekend workshops – creating the time & space to practice painting and express your creative self. The freedom to explore the visual arts whilst learning at your own pace through the process of making the art that you enjoy. Or simply, enjoy having the time and space to practice making your own art in a relaxing social atmosphere of Madelvic House with all the professional 1-to-1 tuition and support you need.

The Painting for Pleasure weekend is open to all adults, whatever your age, creative experience or artistic ability. Enjoy the creative process and the time to practice painting for a whole 2 days in the relaxing social atmosphere of Madelvic House, Granton.

The workshop offers a wonderful and enjoyable creative experience with full 1-to-1 professional tutoring guidance & support at an affordable price.

'Painting for Pleasure' is a self-directed learning and art practice workshop. Meaning - you are free to choose from whichever area of visual arts you wish to explore and learn more about. With as much personal support and help, guidance and positive mentoring as you require.

Resident studio artist - Gareth Hutchison will help you every step of the way from beginning to compilation of your own art work(s) over the course of an entire weekend and/or over the course your chosen day. You can choose to use Acrylics, watercolours, oil painting, drawing or mixed media and collage.

Art Materials are not provided. Please bring your own art materials whenever possible, although Gareth does supply a small amount art materials for you to use or try whenever necessary.

Workshop Duration: 6.5 hrs (10am - 4.30pm). Lunch when you want. No restrictions... Have as many breaks as you need.

Madelvic Kitchen will be available for students to use throughout the day. Plentiful supply of organic coffee and tea is available for free. Please bring your own lunch.
