Paint your Pet: Monochrome

Paint your Pet is back, with a twist! This time, we will learn how to use a monochrome paint palette to create a realistic form - the result will be a one-of-a-kind rendition of your pet in the color of your choice.
In advance of class, you'll provide a photo of your pet and identify your color choice. When you arrive, a line drawing of your pet will be sketched out on the canvas for you, and your color gradients will be mixed & ready.
You will learn how to interpret where the lights and darks are on the photo of your pet, and then how to translate that into the lights and darks of your color gradient. Marisa will also briefly demonstrate how to mix a color string (gradient versions of the same color ranging from light to dark).
Painting with a monochrome palette of non-realistic colors can be a very freeing experience! You can release the stress of trying to find "the perfect color" and become more able to enjoy the process of applying paint to your canvas.
This class is suitable for adults and young people ages 12+. No prior experience is needed.
