Paint the Plaza Purple

The Pontotoc County CCRT, or Coordinated Community Response Team, is hosting what was previously known as the Victims Vigil this October. This year, we are putting a new spin on the event and expanding it into a larger community-wide Domestic Violence Awareness Month event called Paint the Plaza Purple.
Paint the Plaza Purple will be a free, family-friendly event for the entire community. There will be food prepared and handed out, activities and games for families, and numerous community service providers in attendance. The Chickasaw Nation will also have representatives from several tribal agencies present, along with other local organizations and community partners.
Our goal is to bring the community together to increase awareness, connect individuals and families with resources, encourage communication and collaboration, and promote strength, support, and hope for victims and survivors.
The event will be held later in the evening, so we encourage everyone to wear purple and bring glow sticks if you have them. Please see the flyer below for the full event details.
We hope to see you all there!
If you or your organization would like to participate as a service provider, host a booth,, help with activities, or assist with organizing the event, please reach out to me. We would love to have you involved.
