What happens when we put down the need to get it right?

Paint & Chai is not about learning how to paint. It’s about stepping into a different way of experiencing—where the goal isn’t outcome, but presence.

In most of life, we are trained to do: to fix, to improve, to control. But art—especially working with color—invites something quieter. It asks us to slow down, soften, and simply be.

As the brush meets the page, something subtle begins to shift. You can try to control the color… and feel the resistance. Or you can let it move, blend, and unfold—and feel yourself soften with it.

Somewhere between the first stroke and the unexpected spread of pigment, you may notice:
you’re not fully in control.

And strangely, that’s where the ease begins.

We’ll be working with a simple, lotus-inspired form—a symbol of growth and transformation—as a gentle starting point for your own creative expression. The lotus grows in muddy water but rises and blooms, reminding us that something beautiful can emerge even from uncertain or messy moments.

Inspired by the idea that we don’t need to control everything to experience peace, this evening offers a grounded, creative way to explore that—through color, texture, and presence.
