Join us Sunday, August 16, 2026 from 2–5 PM at the fabulous Nomadic Wine Dispensary in Seattle for a rare, hands‑on opportunity to paint a PNW native art Salmon (x̲áat)with Tlingit artist Bill Pfeifer, Jr.!
The Salmon is the foundational lifeblood of the Pacific Northwest — and for the Tlingit of Southeast Alaska, (x̲áat)is the cultural and nutritional heart of community life.
As you paint, Bill will share stories and cultural context, guiding you through PNW native art technique and the living traditions behind it.
-You’ll also learn key differences between Salish and Tlingit art: Coast Salish work often emphasizes linear, geometric and stacked-figure compositions, while Tlingit (and other formline traditions) use the formline visual language — ovoids, U‑forms and flowing primary lines — to construct figures and narratives.
What to expect
- A guided, hands‑on painting session — no experience required!
- Learn PNW native art technique, ask Bill questions, and create your own Salmon piece.
- A chance to honor and learn from the Northwest Coast visual language.
