Brand new class!We’re excited to offer a new painting class that captures the beauty of the Kookaburra and highlights his gorgeous colours.
Create this iconic Kookaburra with a gorgeous blended background that you’d be thrilled to hang on the wall. I’ll show you all my tips and techniques for adding texture and depth, and you’ll be guided every step of the way.
Bring your bestie, your mum, sister, aunty, daughter or come on your own, it’s a day of fun and creativity.
This class will be held at The Post and Rail in Compton, and includes morning tea, all materials, ploughman’s lunch and lots of hands-on fun!
Saturday 22nd Feb - 10am to 3pm (SA Time) - $165 per person
In this fun, hands-on class, you’re going to learn how to paint this iconic Kookaburra. You’ll be shown all the techniques to use, how to sketch out the design, how to blend colours and how to create this gorgeous background. We work at a relaxed pace, and you don’t need any prior experience.
Our experienced Tutor will be there to guide you through every step and can also provide any assistance you need.
Everything is included, from morning tea upon arrival with proper coffee or tea, to all supplies, paints and canvases. A ploughman’s lunch is also provided, with fresh sourdough bread, cheeses and homemade pickles and chutneys.

About The Post & Rail
The Post and Rail is a Cooking, Gardening & Art School located at 7 Bill James Court Compton, on a picturesque 5-acre property. Classes are held in a normal home designed to provide a relaxed and sociable learning experience. Please allow an extra 10 mins travel time from the centre of Mount Gambier.
We pride ourselves on our professionalism, warmth, spirit of fun and love of painting, especially with friends, old and new.
Every guest receives a warm welcome, tea or proper coffee upon arrival, and their own apron to wear for the duration of the class. A ploughman’s lunch is provided, with fresh sourdough bread, cheeses, and homemade chutneys and pickles. All equipment, paint and canvas are provided, and a copy of the notes from the class are emailed to guests so that they can continue their artistic journey at home.
