About this Event
Poetry has always been a comfort to me as a form of coping with issues, but over time I realized coping only offered a temporary solution to a deeper underlying problem, most likely caused by some kind of trauma. And although I was coping, my adverse reactions to trauma was causing major disruption to my daily activities and unhealthy relationships with family and friends. Eventually, I ended up being diagnosed with PTSD and needed therapy.
While in therapy, I realized many people suffer silently from events and experiences of the past and even though they cope, they are not okay. Simply because coping only temporarily deals with the emotions, whereas therapy addresses the issues. So, I created this workshop to explore and exercise "poetry", not as a coping mechanism, but as a theraputic tool for trauma victims of all lifestyles.
This workshop is for a mature audience, whether you are a professional poet or just love the art, let's give a voice to trauma therapy in an innovative way. Simply because healing is a conscious state of mind, and we are gifted with talents and skills that we can use to physically manifest peace and harmony within ourselves.
STOP DEALING - START HEALING!
