Paediatric First Aid (Blended)

This Paediatric First Aid course is Ofsted-compliant and designed for those responsible for the care of infants and children.

It equips you with the knowledge and confidence to respond calmly and correctly in both everyday incidents and serious emergencies.

The blended format combines online learning with a practical session, allowing flexibility without compromising on hands-on experience.

Who should attend?

During this course, you will learn how to assess and manage a wide range of situations involving babies and children, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions.

Ideal for:

• Nursery and early years staff
• School staff
• Childcare providers
• Anyone responsible for children’s safety

Anyone over the age of 16 who may need paediatric first aid skills.

Course Outline

Delivered through realistic, child-focused scenarios to reflect situations you’re likely to face.

Topics include:

• Assessing an emergency situation
• Infant and child CPR and AED use
• Unresponsive infant and child
• Choking (infant and child)
• Allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
• Burns, bleeding and head injuries

Plus much more.

Course duration

1 Day practical training combined with online theory.

Assessment & certification

Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment; there is no final exam. Once you have completed and met the requirements, you will be issued a certificate that is valid for three years. Under the current guidelines, it is strongly recommended that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every twelve months.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellation charges are based on the notice given before the course date:

• 1–14 days: 100% of the course fee
• 15–21 days: 50% of the course fee
• 22–28 days: 25% of the course fee
• More than 28 days: No cancellation charge
