Tired of dating apps and singles events where everyone just stands around? Join us for a beginner-friendly afternoon of padel in Hillsborough, New Jersey — an Active Singles Social hosted by Thryve at Access Padel.
Padel is the fastest-growing racket sport in the world. It is played in groups of four, it is genuinely social, and it is easy to pick up. You show up, we hand you a racket, and our instructors walk you through the basics. From there we run rotating games, so you play and talk with different people all afternoon instead of getting stuck on one court with one partner.
Come by yourself. Most people will be. We provide the structure and teach you the game, so there is no pressure to know anyone or know anything before you arrive.
We cannot promise a perfect mix, nobody can. What we can promise is that you will leave knowing how to play padel, you will have moved for two hours, and the format means you will actually talk to people instead of standing around hoping someone approaches you.
Everyone is missing shots for the first twenty minutes. That is most of the fun, and it is a far easier icebreaker than "so what do you do?" Our instructors are pros who make learning fun, not intimidating. Nobody is rating anybody. You are playing a sport with people, and conversation happens naturally because you are doing something together.
WHO THIS IS FOR
All ages are welcome. This event is primarily for singles roughly late 20s through 40s, and beginners especially. No athletic background or racket-sport experience needed.
WHAT TO KNOW
Wear athletic clothes and clean sneakers. Rackets and all equipment are provided. The courts are indoor and air-conditioned.
