Backyard Birds with The Raptor Trust

Get to know the birds you see every day—and meet one up close!

 

Join an educator from The Raptor Trust as you discover the names, behaviors, and unique adaptations of the common birds that share our neighborhoods, parks, and backyards. Learn what makes each species special, why many wild birds are admitted to The Raptor Trust’s Wild Bird Hospital, and how simple changes at home can help create a backyard habitat where birds can thrive.

 

The program also features a live ambassador bird—a rescued and rehabilitated bird that now helps educate the public about wildlife conservation and the importance of protecting native birds.

 

Whether you’re an experienced birder or just beginning to notice the wildlife around you, you’ll leave with a new appreciation for the feathered neighbors all around us.

All programs begin at the Farm Barn Orientation Center unless otherwise noted.

Registration is required. Please let us know if you are no longer able to attend so your space can be offered to someone else. Cancellations received at least 48 hours in advance are eligible for a refund, if applicable.

Programs at Duke Farms are held rain or shine, but in the event of severe or impeditive weather, classes may be canceled. Email notice will be given as early as possible via email and refunds will be issued in the case of cancellations.
