The 2050 plan for St. Mary's County sets the next 25 years of land use, zoning, and infrastructure policy for St. Marys County Maryland and it shouldn't be locked in by outgoing commissioners weeks before a general election that could change the board.
No law forces a summer vote on a 25-year plan. Engagement hit less than 1% of the county. The plan greenlights up to 5 units per acre in Charlotte Hall, Mechanicsville, and Piney Point (15 with credits), while admitting the infrastructure to support it doesn't exist. Leonardtown High is already 350+ kids over capacity. The APFO hasn't been updated in nearly a decade.
If they adopted it tomorrow it would change this county forever and not in a good way.
With all the zoning changes it would make a data center alot easier as well. We have to avoid those at all costs! #votekyte #NoDataCenters
