Concert Kickoff to 30-Day Fundraising Event
SAN MARCOS, Texas — Own Your Own Universe (OYOU), a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives through music and the creative arts by providing accessible programming for all ages and abilities, invites the community to the OYOU’s 2nd Annual Rhymes Lines and Dimes Fundraiser on Sunday, November 1st, at the Price Center in San Marcos.
The annual fall fundraiser will bring together music, creativity and community while raising critical funds for OYOU’s year-round arts and educational programming.

4:00 p.m. — Doors Open
5:00 p.m. — Indoor Seated Fundraiser Concert & Curfew around 8:00ish
Munchies provided by the Root Cellar, cash bar featuring Texas wine and beer, silent auction, and a raffle.
The ticketed fundraiser will feature performances by:
Terri Hendrix & Lloyd Maines
Emily Gimble & Michael Archer
A special collaborative finale featuring all four artists
Since 2012, Own Your Own Universe has empowered and transformed lives by connecting the mind, body and spirit through music and the creative arts. Through free and affordable programming, OYOU works to remove barriers to participation while ensuring that artists, teachers, musicians and workshop leaders are fairly compensated for their work.
Your dollars will directly impact and make these vital programs possible:
Youth & Education:
OYOUth Writer’s Nest, Summer music camps, workshops, and kid entrepreneurs
Access & Inclusivity:
SongBuddies, Playing for Good Outreach, Song Circles
Arts & Connection:
Adult Writer’s Nest, Online and in-person workshops,
Events & Community:
Songbird Concert Series, Festival of Words, Tammi Fest
Women’s Programming:
Sunflower Women’s Retreat
OYOU has set a goal of raising $15,000 during this year’s 30-day fundraiser that culminates with on Giving Tuesday, on December 1st. All proceeds will directly support this nonprofit’s community programming and events!
Every ticket purchased and every contribution made during the fundraiser helps OYOU continue offering free and low-cost opportunities to the community while fairly paying the musicians, artists, workshop leaders and instructors who make those programs possible.
By attending our 2nd Annual Rhymes Lines and Dimes Fundraiser, guests are not only enjoying an evening of community and Texas music, but they are also helping OYOU continue its mission of transforming lives through music and the creative arts.
Other events will be held online throughou the 30-day period to see us to our goal.
