Oxford and Cambridge University Esports Varsity 2026

The Oxford vs Cambridge ESPORTS VARSITY is the biggest gaming event in the Oxbridge Esports calendar – a battle between teams of students packed with the top esports titles in an epic best-of-seven series. The annual competition, which has been running since 2013, is organised by the Oxford University Gaming & Esports Society (OUGES) and Cambridge University Digital Gaming Society (CUDGS) and made possible by our supporters of grassroots esports, empowering our passionate community of gamers.

The Oxford vs Cambridge ESPORTS VARSITY 2026 takes place on Tuesday, 17th March - Wednesday, 18th March 2026. The event is open to all students and the general public and will be livestreamed via the OxbridgeEsports Twitch channel: https://twitch.tv/OxbridgeEsports.

This year ESPORTS VARSITY will take place at the Digital Hub at Jesus College, Oxford University. Jesus College is home to Oxford's first esports facility, the "AFK Esports Suite", and we are excited to be holding the Varsity in their new digital innovation hub right in the centre of Oxford.

Each game operates under its own ruleset consistent with other grassroots esports. The winning team at the end of the series earns one point toward the overall VARSITY score line in a best-of-seven series. The games selected for ESPORTS VARSITY 2026 are:

COUNTER-STRIKE: GLOBAL OFFENSIVE - Best of three

MARVEL RIVALS - Best of seven

LEAGUE OF LEGENDS - Best of five

OVERWATCH 2 - Best of seven

VALORANT - Best of three
