Own The Arena: West London Speaks
About this Event
Own the Arena: West London Speaks is an immersive public speaking and leadership accelerator for ambitious young people ready to find their voice.
Across four weeks, you will learn to overcome the fear of speaking, communicate with authority and turn your personal story into a speech that moves a room. You will be coached through every stage, from finding your message to delivering it with confidence.
Alongside the group sessions, you will receive one-to-one employment support to help you take your next step towards work, education or training.
The programme is open to young people across West London, with particular encouragement for those currently out of work, education or training, or who have experience of the justice system.
Expect:
• Expert-led public speaking and leadership sessions
• Practical techniques to manage nerves and command a room
• Space to explore the issues that matter to your generation
• Personal support to develop your final speech
• An invitation-only final showcase at a landmark government institution
This is a high-standard development experience for young people who are ready to be heard. The skills you build will stay with you in interviews, education, work and beyond.
Sessions run every Thursday for 4 weeks from 5:45pm to 8:00pm, starting 22 October, at Warwick Community Hall, 296 Harrow Road, London W9 2HJ.

Host: Corporate Jungle
Info: Start by facing the fear of public speaking. Learn what makes a powerful speaker, build confidence in the room and begin finding the message you want people to hear.

Session 2: Own the Room (Thursday 29 October)
Host: Corporate Jungle Team
Info: Learn how to use pace, pauses, projection, body language and eye contact to hold attention. You will practise these techniques through a coached delivery of The Man in the Arena.

Session 3: Own Your Story (Thursday 5 November)

Info: Step into the shoes of the founders behind some of the most important companies of the past 20 years. Working in teams, you will pitch their businesses, learn what makes an idea compelling and use those lessons to begin writing your own final speech.

Own the Arena: Final Showcase (Tuesday 10 November)
Host: Corporate Jungle Team
Info: Take the stage at a landmark government institution and deliver the speech you have built across the programme in front of a live audience. Celebrate your journey and leave with a skill that will serve you in interviews, education, work and life.
