From the Boys: Launching of our podcast series
About this Event
What does it mean to grow up male in Camden today?
In late June 2026, sixteen Year 10 pupils at William Ellis School spent their work experience placement at Middlesex University, learning professional podcasting and media skills — from storytelling and narrative construction to recording and editing. The result is From the Boys: a podcast series giving voice to how a generation of young men are navigating identity, pressure, and masculinity in the city today.
The project has already reached a wide audience, featured on BBC London News and in the local press, and is generating interest from educators and researchers nationally. Now, we want to bring our community together to celebrate it — and to keep this work going.
We're delighted to invite alumni, parents, donors, and our trust and foundation partners to join us for the official launch.
What to expect
● A live discussion with the boys behind the podcast — hear first-hand from some of the pupils who created the series about their experience, what they learned, and what they want people to take away from it
● An open conversation on young masculinity in Camden today — a chance for attendees to discuss the themes raised in the podcast with fellow guests, school staff, and project partners
● A paid bar — stay, relax, and continue the conversation over a drink
● The chance to hear more about the William Ellis Trust's wider work supporting boys' education, wellbeing, and opportunity — and how you can help us do more of it
Why this matters:
Projects like From the Boys only happen because of the generosity of our community. This event is also a chance to invest further in the Trust's work supporting the boys of William Ellis School — through the Rather Use Than Fame Club, direct donations, or trust and foundation partnerships. Every donation helps fund further projects designed to enrich our pupils experience, and help us understand them better.
