Jasper County Conservation Board will host an Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors (OWLS) program on Wednesday, August 13 at the Jasper County Armory/Annex Building in Newton. The public is invited to come for 10:00 a.m. coffee and a presentation given by Rachel Ruden, the Iowa DNR’s State Wildlife Veterinarian. Ruden will talk about what her job entails and go over some current health risks for wildlife, such as avian flu and chronic wasting disease.The OWLS program is a conservation program that encourages seniors to stay active and learn new things about the natural world.
