Owl Pellet Investigation Lab: Uncover the Mystery!
Become a wildlife investigator in this hands-on science lab as you dissect a real owl pellet—a bundle of bones, fur, and feathers—to uncover what an owl ate and how it survives! You’ll identify tiny bones and skulls, reconstruct the owl’s meal, and explore food webs and ecosystem health to discover what animals live in the area and whether the environment is balanced. Wear comfortable clothing, bring water and a snack. Please Note: Out of respect to Native traditions and cultural sensitivities, please see Tish prior to the first day of class to discuss an alternate activity if needed.
