Overnight White-Water Rafting & Camping in Kremmling
About this Event
Join Veterans Exploration Therapy (V.E.T.) in partnership with the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) for an immersive, multi-day wilderness experience.
Running from Friday, June 19th to Sunday, June 21st, this overnight excursion combines scenic riverside camping with thrilling white-water rafting. Participants will paddle full-size rafts through Class II-III rapids on the Upper Colorado River under the expert guidance of Certified NSCD Raft Guides.
This program operates in a highly supportive, noncompetitive "challenge by choice" environment, utilizing adaptive paddling systems and full instructor care so everyone can participate at their own level of comfort.
II. Event Logistics
- Dates: Friday, June 19, 2026 – Sunday, June 21, 2026.
- Meeting Time & Base Location: 2:00 PM on Friday, June 19th at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Pavilion Parking Lot (15200 W. 6th Ave, Golden, CO 80401).
- Campsite Location: Pumphouse Campground, CO Hwy 106, Kremmling, CO 80459.
Day 1: June 19, 2026
🕑: 02:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Meet at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Pavilion parking lot
Info: To check in and load gear into the group vehicles before starting the 2.5-hour drive to the river valley.
🕑: 05:00 PM - 09:00 PM
Arrive at Pumphouse Campground
Info: Check into campsites, set up tents, and enjoy a group dinner.
Day 2: June 20, 2026
🕑: 07:00 AM - 08:00 AM
Breakfast at camp and prepping gear for the river.
🕑: 09:30 AM - 05:00 PM
White-water rafting on the Upper Colorado River.
Info: Instructors will teach key skills like body positioning, stroke techniques, steering, and rapid safety.
🕑: 05:00 PM - 08:00 PM
Head back to the campground for relaxation and dinner.
Day 3: June 21, 2026
🕑: 07:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Pack Up & Head Home
Info: Eat breakfast, pack up individual campsites, and board vehicles to journey back to Denver.
