Please note for overnight rides you must be a National Hog Member and also join our Hog group.
Consider making your hotel reservation early for this overnight ride given the busy time of year.
Overnight to Kinzua Viaduct
Friday, October 9 - Saturday, October 10
Kickstands up Friday morning at 9 a.m.
The Kinzua Viaduct was a railroad trestle that spanned Kinzua Creek in Kane, Pa. The bridge was 301 feet tall and 2,052 feet long. Most of its structure collapsed during a tornado in July 2003.
Join ride leader, Priscella Karns, for this overnight ride to visit what is referred to as the "Eighth Wonder of the World." The original 1882 wrought iron structure held the record for the tallest railroad bridge in the world for two years. In addition to visiting the viaduct and Kinzua Bridge State Park, we hope Mother Nature will bless us with some great leaf peepin' views, as well, on this two-day ride.
Priscella is considering visiting Hyner View State Park on the way home on Saturday. Maybe you'll see some hang gliders from this scenic vista where you can see vast distances both up- and downstream over the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and surrounding mountains.
Hotel reservations can be made at:
Best Western PLUS Executive Inn, Saint Marys, PA
Or by calling: (800) 780-7234 or (814) 834-0000
