We’re excited to announce our first Black Women of Evanston Beach Retreat! Friday, 9/12 starting at 6:00 PM to Saturday, 9/13 at 9:00 AM.

The cost is $120 per person

Join us for an overnight experience dedicated to community, wellness, and connection among Black women. This special event offers a unique opportunity to enjoy the lakefront, engage in self-care activities, and build meaningful bonds in a safe and nurturing environment. Whether you're looking to relax, reflect, or rejuvenate, this retreat is perfect for you.

Schedule of Events:6:00–7:00 PM: Arrival and Tent Setup7:00–8:30 PM: Family-Style Picnic Dinner (please bring one store-bought item to share). Non-alcoholic beverages only. - During this time, ear needling will be available.8:30–10:30 PM: Black Healing Circle and Fire Pit Experience10:30 PM–5:30 AM: Sleep6:00–6:45 AM: Sunrise Yoga (Please bring a yoga mat)6:45–7:00 AM: Journaling (Notebook and pen included)7:00–8:00 AM: Boxed Breakfast (Included) and Appreciation Circle8:00–9:00 AM: Farewell and Pack UpAdditional Information:A limited supply of 1-person camping tents are available. You may reserve a tent when purchasing your ticket. Once tents are fully booked, no additional tents will be added.You may bring your own tent, but please purchase the appropriate ticket. Tent must be secured at the base and no larger than 10’ x 10’.

Vehicles without a current-year Evanston wheel tax may be subject to parking fees on designated streets and lots along the lakefront, with enforcement from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily. Overnight parking passes will be provided by Ecology Center staff from 9:00 PM on Friday, 9/12, to 8:00 AM on Saturday, 9/13.Waivers:All participants must sign and return a Liability Waiver and Release for Black Women of Evanston and the City of Evanston. Both waivers must be emailed to [email protected] on or before August 29th.Weather Considerations:In case of inclement weather, Black Women of Evanston will notify participants to seek shelter or leave the site.Additional Park Rules:Please adhere to all applicable laws and rules set by the State of Illinois, the City of Evanston, and the Parks and Recreation Department:No gambling or alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises.All trash and debris must be collected and deposited in designated containers.Tents larger than 10’ x 10’, amplified music, dance floors, DJs, and inflatable play equipment are not allowed.Glitter, rice, and birdseed are prohibited.Private individuals may not place portable toilets on City lands, parkways, or streets.Motorized vehicles are not permitted in parks, beaches, or picnic areas.Dogs must be on a leash at all times.Balloons may not be released into City parks and beaches unless approved for scientific or meteorological purposes by the Parks and Recreation Director.

All sales are final! All attendees must purchase a ticket in advance.
