Join us for the 2nd annual Overdose Awareness 5k/1 mile Remembrance Walk on August 30th 2024 at 7:30 a.m. @ South County Regional Park in Punta Gorda, Florida. This initiative was born from the tragic loss of my beloved Sister Kelly Pierce Peterson who passed away from an accidental overdose on November 19th, 2023. Her unexpected passing blindsided our family and highlighted the urgent need for awareness and advocacy in all communities!!!
Last year we had over 240 participants and raised nearly $17,000 for this crucial cause. This year we aim to make our event even bigger and better with a goal of reaching 400 participants.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Cathy's Place of Charlotte County, which supports recovery, and Drug-Free Charlotte County, dedicated to preventing addiction. We are also proud to partner with Durti Runners race timing for this event.
