OUTspoken: Pride Poetry Slam
Schedule

UTC-03:00Location
The Guild | Charlottetown, PE
Join us as we celebrate our communities’ rebellious and unwavering joy. We welcome folks from all decades, all backgrounds, all genders, and no genders, to join us gleefully as we revel in tales of burgeoning attractions, awakening truths, brave defiance, and queer relentless radiance.
Slam Poetry is not a passive experience. Slam Poetry stomps its feet and rattles the bars of complicity to create movements that challenge the status quo. This year we challenge you to focus on what exuberant queer joy means to you. In your community and labours, activism and movements, rest and resistance, love and art. How are we sharing our queer bliss?
Our opening ceremony will be conducted by Kaelyn Mercer (she/her). Our judging panel this year includes local bar wench, Jo Godden (they/them), wordsmith from the woods, Cybelle Reiber (she/they), and dramatic beaded hermit, Richard Schroeter (he/him).
You’ll have four minutes to titillate us, move us to tears, or both with your righteous slams. Interested in participating? Get in touch by emailing: [email protected]
Please note while the event will be all-ages, there could be explorations of sexuality, rebellion, acceptance and unmitigated highs and lows that may have adult themes.
OUTspoken is sober, free, and always will be.
