About this Event
Date: May 23, 2026
Time: 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Location: Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture
This workshop invites participants to explore composition through observation of nature and animals. Participants begin outdoors, learning composition through a viewfinder to frame and simplify natural backgrounds while building observational skills. Back in the classroom, students work from photographs of a favorite animal or wildlife, focusing on placement, scale, and its relationship to the environment. The workshop emphasizes shape, light and shadow, color, texture, sketching, and the use of painting tools, and is designed to be accessible to artists of all experience levels.
For ages 16 and older. Those under age 16 may attend accompanied by an adult.
