Public Access Collective presents Outer Worlds, an extraordinary program featuring five experimental IMAX films by leading Canadian artists: Kelly Richardson, Lisa Jackson, Oliver Husain, Leila Sujir, and Michael Snow.
These films push the boundaries of cinema, immersing audiences in expanded visions of the non-human world: forests, lichens, snails, water, and sky. Exploring themes of ecology, interspecies communication, and climate change, the works invite us to imagine new ways of experiencing and adapting to our shared planet.
The program also includes a rare screening of Graeme Ferguson’s North of Superior (1971), the first film shot entirely in IMAX, as well as Michael Snow’s final IMAX film Cityscape, remixed with a new sound score.
✨ Curated by Janine Marchessault and supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, this event is part of a three-city Canadian tour. Following the screening, audiences are invited to stay for an artist and curator Q&A in the theatre.
