Bell County Precinct 2 Constable Announces Second Annual Outdoor Expo at Barrow Brewing Company in Salado on September 12, 2026.
SALADO, Texas — Bell County Precinct 2 Constable is proud to announce the Second Annual Outdoor Expo, a free, family-friendly event celebrating the outdoors, conservation, education, and the many recreational opportunities available throughout Central Texas.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Outdoor Expo returns with an expanded lineup of exhibitors, educational presentations, and community partners dedicated to connecting families with the outdoors and promoting responsible stewardship of Texas’ natural resources.
This year’s Outdoor Expo will be hosted by Barrow Brewing Company in Salado, a location that perfectly reflects the spirit of the event. Situated along the banks of Salado Creek, Barrow Brewing provides a unique setting where visitors can experience firsthand the natural beauty and importance of one of Central Texas’ most treasured waterways.
Salado Creek has long been a valued resource for the community, providing opportunities for fishing, wildlife observation, recreation, and outdoor exploration. The creek serves as a living classroom, demonstrating the importance of clean water, healthy ecosystems, and conservation efforts that ensure these natural resources remain available for future generations.
“Our goal with the Outdoor Expo is to bring families, organizations, and outdoor enthusiasts together while creating opportunities to learn, explore, and appreciate the incredible resources we have here in Central Texas,” said Bell County Precinct 2 Constable Chris Bazar. “This event is about much more than hunting and fishing. It is about conservation, education, supporting our local partners, and inspiring the next generation to build a lifelong connection with the outdoors. Having this event along Salado Creek makes that mission even more meaningful. Our natural resources are a blessing, and conservation begins with understanding and appreciating what we have.”

The Outdoor Expo will feature educational presentations throughout the event, including Texas Parks and Wildlife Department biologists sharing information about wildlife, habitat, and natural resources found throughout Central Texas. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn from Brett Parker with Hill Country Snake Removal, who will provide an informative presentation on snake identification, safety, and the important role snakes play within Texas ecosystems.
A special focus this year will be the partnership with Salado Youth Fishing, led by Shelly Salter, which encourages youth participation in fishing while teaching responsibility, conservation, and appreciation for local waterways.
When asked about the importance of introducing children to fishing and the value of clean local waters, Ms. Salter shared:
“Teaching kids to fish in a clean creek is incredibly important for several reasons. First, it fosters a direct connection to nature, helping children appreciate the environment while learning valuable life skills. Clean water ensures that young anglers experience a healthy ecosystem, where fish thrive and they can observe the natural interactions of wildlife. Learning in a creek also instills a sense of responsibility toward conservation. By teaching kids to fish in clean creeks, we not only nurture future anglers but also cultivate lifelong stewards of the environment.”
