Outdoor Cycling Skills Workshop

The Norwalk Bike/Walk Commission, in partnership with CT State Community College and the Norwalk Health Department, proudly presents a comprehensive bike safety skills course. This event is open to all Norwalk residents, with a special invitation extended to CT State Norwalk students and their families.

Put Your Bike Safety Skills to the Test!

Take your cycling confidence to the next level with this hands-on road safety course! Led by League Cycling Instructor (LCI) Chaz Foster from Sound Cyclists and supported by Jahliah Green from the Norwalk Health Department, this class is designed for families, novice riders, and anyone looking to improve their bike-handling skills in real-world conditions.

What You'll Learn:

• Starting, stopping, and turning with control
• Proper signaling and communication with drivers
• Lane positioning for safety and visibility
• Avoiding common hazards and navigating intersections

This course will be held in a controlled setting, allowing participants to practice essential skills before heading out on the road. Parents are encouraged to participate with their children (ages 10 & up)! You are required to bring your own bicycle and helmet.
