In collaboration with the organization Women Youth Empowerment in Social Service and Human Right (WYESHR), the University of the Fraser Valley (Canada) has been carrying out participatory action research in Kathmandu and the Sindhulpalchowk district of Nepal. To share our learnings and knowledge from this research, we are holding a ‘photovoice’ exhibition at the Nepal Arts Council (Bagmati Hall) from Jan. 28-Feb. 1, 2026. The exhibit is a photographic exploration of the life stories and perspectives of 45 women and 16 youth co-researchers in Nepal. These photographic stories powerfully express women’s and youths’ deep reflections and experiences with marginalization and vulnerability, and calls for action to address their needs and rights. This exhibit is open to all from 10 AM to 5 PM.
