Our Local Gem: The Western Bluebird
Presented by local bluebird advocate Carolyn Hyink, this class will explore the natural history, behavior, and conservation efforts surrounding Western Bluebirds right here in the Pacific Northwest and Clark County, Washington.
Carolyn’s passion for birds began along the shores of Lake Sammamish in Seattle after discovering the Bufflehead. Following a 30-year career as a User Experience Designer in the tech industry, she retired and became a nest box monitor for the Prescott Bluebird Recovery Project in Oregon.
Since moving to La Center in 2023, Carolyn has focused her efforts on Western Bluebird conservation in Southwest Washington.
