About this Event
A free historical event that centers around the years of our country’s founding. The focus is to bring living history to those of all ages so they may better understand each other and how we got to where we are today.
Activities include:
- Parade through the park at 9:30 am and 4:30 pm
- Meet George Washington and John Hancock
- Impressions of 18th century figures, including George Washington, Yakama dancers, John Hancock, and many everyday folks of the time
- Demonstrations of musket drills, dancing, beading and basket making, candle making, spinning, and lace making
- Educational talks about daily life 250 years ago, politicians' thoughts on government formation, native history, roles of women, and history of our flags
- Drop off worn, torn flags for proper retirement
- Displays of items used in everyday life
- Encampments of Colonial soldiers and Yakama Nation members
- And so much more….
