Biog Laura:
Laura Jordan is a Visual Artist based in Cork. She earned an honours degree in Painting from Limerick School of Art and Design, where she has also recently completed an MA in Art, Psyche and the Creative Imagination. Her practice brings together painting, drawing, and photography in contemplative explorations of inner and outer worlds. Laura’s work emerges from engagement with the unconscious, where dream and memory intersect with lived experience. She is drawn to liminal spaces and thresholds, between waking and dreaming, silence and expression; creating images that are both deeply personal and archetypal. Her practice seeks to uncover what lies beneath appearances, inviting reflection on the hidden forces shaping identity, belonging, and transformation. The process of making is an act of excavation: to trace, unearth and give form to what is half-seen or half-remembered. Working in layers, she builds surfaces imbued with memory and time. Techniques such as sgraffito, which scratches back to reveal hidden layers and scumbling, which veils and softens, mirror processes of remembering and forgetting. Through this tactile engagement, her work becomes a vessel for memory, transformation and unconscious connections, opening imaginative spaces where viewers may encounter their own resonances of rupture and renewal.
Biog Eoin:
Eoin Ó Conchúir is author of the book Seacht mBealach / Seven Ways: A field guide to Gaeilge Gach Lá. Living in Luimneach / Limerick with his family, he explores the meeting place of language, imagination and place. He is a graduate of the MA in Art, Psyche and the Creative Imagination. He holds a PhD in Global Software Development from the University of Limerick.
