The Northwest Symphony Orchestra invites you to an afternoon of imagination and discovery with Other Worldly Pops! We open with beloved film music that has shaped generations: the heartfelt lift of E.T. through John Williams’ Adventures on Earth, the stirring themes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the bold, adventurous spirit of Pirates of the Caribbean from Hans Zimmer/Ricketts. These familiar scores set a welcoming, cinematic foundation for a program that blends wonder, nostalgia, and symphonic color.
The concert also includes works that explore the beauty and mystery of the world around us—and beyond. Strauss’s Music of the Spheres offers a graceful, luminous atmosphere, while Holst’s Jupiter brings one of the most uplifting melodies in the orchestral repertoire. Debussy’s Fêtes shimmers with movement and celebration, and Offenbach’s Orpheus in the Underworld adds a lively, playful spark. Additional selections will round out a program designed to delight listeners of all ages.
