OSTEOTHAI FOR THE BREATHING PROCESS w/ David Lutt
Osteothai is the integration of osteopathic principles and techniques into Thai massage, a bridge between East and West. It’s a form of bodywork that combines extraordinary creative and powerful Thai massage techniques with the precise and gentle touch of osteopathy.
OSTEOTHAI FOR THE BREATHING PROCESS
Osteothai has been created by David Lutt and Arno L’hermitte, two French osteopaths in love with Thai massage. Each of them then has developed the concept according to their views and inspirations, allowing Osteothai to be a living and constant evolution.
OVERVIEW
This dense and colorful course brings us into the Universe of Osteothai.
We learn about the expansion & Retraction motion of the breathing system for a better homeostasis
If our patients breathe properly, they live well. Blood and energy move. Health is present! The breathing process is a mechanism bringing together the respiratory, neurological, cardiovascular, visceral, musculoskeletal and psychic systems. It is a link between our physical, emotional and mental states. Using dynamic and static techniques to approach the ribcage, the different diaphragms and the shoulder joint, it is possible to restore vitality and mobility in the chest and thoracic areas, in order to increase the fluids circulation and release tensions and emotions. In this 5-day course, we will focus on:
THE RIBCAGE how to approach the ribcage, the thoracic spine and the sternum with dynamic techniques coming from Thai massage and osteopathy (general treatment, oscillatory techniques, recoil and impulse, advanced stretching…)
LUNGS AND HEART : THE 3 CYLINDERS the interdependence between structure and function brings our attention to our 3 inner cylinders : the lungs and the heart. What can we do to increase lungs function?
OUR HORIZONTAL AXIS : THE DIAPHRAGMS the diaphragms separate the body into different cavities. A special attention will be brought to them to balance the pressure system and allow a good 3-D expansion-retraction motion within the ribcage
THE SHOULDER COMPLEX AND ITS LINK WITH THE NECK how to free the shoulder complex (glenohumeral joint, scapula, clavicula). This joint is fully integrated into the ribcage and hence linked to the breathing process.
THE PRIMARY RESPIRATORY MOVEMENT Let’s discover a new world and restore vitality! A world where we can feel but not see movement! Developing our Being principles and the sensitivity of our hands, we will deepen our touch and knowledge into the fascia and craniosacral system.
Precise and powerful techniques will be taught to adapt your massage to the needs of your Western patients.
PREREQUISITS :
As this is an advanced course, a minimum a 10-day Beginner Thai Massage and a minimum of 2 years of practice is required.
CERTIFICATION :
After participation all practitioners will receive a certificate from the Lulyani School of Thai & Osteothai.
