About this Event
What Is a Moot?
Yes, “moot” is definitely a funny little word — and a very old one. Rooted in Anglo-Saxon language, it originally meant a meeting or gathering for discussion. Pagans adore old words, and this one fits perfectly.
A moot is simply a place for witches, pagans, and spiritual folk to come together, learn, share, and celebrate community.
During our Sabbat Moots, we gather as a small, like-minded group to honour the turning of the Pagan Wheel of the Year. Each moot focuses on the Sabbat we’re entering — its energy, its history, its magic, and how we can weave that seasonal power into our modern witchcraft.
At every moot you can expect:
- To learn about the Sabbat’s meaning, folklore & symbolism
- To take part in a guided group ritual
- To craft something witchy to support your seasonal practice
- To connect with other witches and pagans in a cosy, supportive space
Sabbats are intimate gatherings, so early booking is recommended. We’d love to have you join us in the magic.
Ostara – The Dawn of Spring
Ostara marks the moment when light and dark stand equal — the Spring Equinox. Celebrated around 20th–21st March, this Sabbat honours rebirth, balance, fertility, hope, and the awakening of the earth.
Named after the goddess Ēostre/Ostara, this festival celebrates new beginnings, sprouting seeds, longer days, and the fresh life returning to the land. It’s a time for planting intentions, welcoming renewal, and embracing the energy of growth and possibility.
For centuries, witches and pagans have used this season to:
- Welcome new beginnings and fresh starts
- Plant literal and symbolic seeds
- Restore balance and harmony
- Work with fertility, abundance, and renewal magic
- Honour the returning sun and vibrant spring energy
The earth is waking — blooming, stretching, and filling with life once again.
What We’ll Do in This Ostara Gathering
Join us as we explore the traditions, folklore, and magical uses of Ostara, and discover how this joyful turning of the wheel can support your personal practice.
During this moot you will:
- Learn the basics of Ostara and how to honour it in your craft
- Take part in a group ritual celebrating new beginnings, balance, and spring renewal
Craft something special to take home for your Ostara celebrations
— this may include a seasonal altar piece, an Ostara mini altar, a spring wreath, an egg charm, or another beautiful spring-inspired creation
Whether you’re a beginner witch or a seasoned practitioner, this workshop offers the perfect blend of learning, ritual, and hands-on crafting to welcome the hopeful, vibrant energy of Ostara.
