Oskari Tolosen yksityisnäyttely, “Tapahtuma”, Galleria Rajatilassa 15.8.-1.9.2026. Gallerian yläkerrassa on esillä kokoelma teoksia eri vuosilta, uusimmat 2025-2026.
Näyttely saa nimensä siitä, kuinka tekemisen tapahtuma on teoksissa jatkuvasti läsnä: teos ei ole työskentelyä seurannut lopputulos, vaan teos on työskentelyn tapahtuma itse. Tapahtuma on teon muodon ilmenemistä teoksena.
Näyttelyn teoksia yhdistää se, kuinka ne ovat syntyneet: äkkiä, “hetkessä”, työstämättä. Tekotapahtuma on hämärä, vailla lineaarisuutta. Siten mysteerillä on keskeinen rooli teoksissa. Mysteeri ei ole arvoitus, ratkaisematon ongelma tai poikkeama normaalista (normaali on kenties poikkeama mysteeristä). Näyttely tavoittelee tilaa syntymisen, esittämisen ja päättymisen syklin tuolla puolen, se on askel kuvien jälkeiseen aikaan.
Oskari Tolonen (s.1982) on valmistunut kuvataiteen maisteriksi Taideyliopiston Kuvataideakatemiasta 2016. Hänen teoksiaan on ollut esillä näyttelyissä Suomessa ja ulkomailla. Hän asuu ja työskentelee Tampereella.

Rong-Ci Zhang — 25 Years and Non-Fiction Island
25 Years and Non-Fiction Island consists of landscape photographs, 309 moon prints made from acrylic plate, and a soundscape. The project interrogates the intricate entanglements of power that flow between the individual, society, and culture.
In probing questions of identity, I discovered a parallel between identity and the act of looking at images. Photography, it seems, is fated to be split in two: the image as such, and the content it signifies. This bifurcation concerns not only the photograph but also our perception of reality itself – what lies before our eyes and what takes shape within our minds. How does the audience negotiate and reconcile what is seen with what is known? These questions form the central axis of this project.
The soundscape by Haiyun Yu – 12 Moon Temperament – is based on an ancient Chinese tuning system for imperial ceremonial music that reflected the 12 lunar cycles of the year.
Rong-Ci Zhang (b.2000) is a Taiwanese artist based in Helsinki, Finland. She works across the mediums of photography, sculpture, sound and installation. Central to the her focus is the process of making sense of a “language” and the inherent in-betweenness of it. How is a system formed? Is it possible to construct a world where time, space, meaning and ideologies collapse but at the same time growing into something new?
