Course Description
The subjects covered in this presentation are mandatory. This course covers Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines on infection control and bloodborne pathogens, and raises awareness of respiratory disease transmission. HIPAA compliance will also be covered. This training provides employers and employees with the insight to understand potential risks and develop safety strategies that comply with current CDC and American Dental Association (ADA) guidelines to keep all employees safe. Discover what policies, posters, and labels are required for your practice.
Learning Objectives

  • Distinguish between areas and procedures that pose potential risk and injury in the workplace
  • Develop strategies to reduce the risk of injury and disease transmission in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines
  • Design and implement policies required for exposure and post-exposure control plans for your practice
  • Recognize the components that meet the standards for infection control, which help reduce the risk of disease transmission and exposure

Speaker Bio
Cathie Collier holds a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene education from the Fones School of Dental Hygiene, where she is currently an adjunct faculty member and has served as clinical coordinator. She has her master's degree from The Graduate Institute in Integrative Health and Healing. A member of the Organization for Safety and Asepsis Prevention, she has assisted numerous dental offices in achieving compliance and meeting infection control regulations from the ADA and CDC.
